Kyle Spainhour Kyle Spainhour currently serves as Corporate Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis for Motorola Inc. His responsibilities include global financial planning, forecasting and analysis. During his 24 years with the company, he has served in finance and accounting roles within each of company's major business segments, including almost ten years of international experience in Europe and the Middle East. Kyle holds a BS in Business Administration and Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MBA from the University of Chicago. Kyle was the first executive to come "out" at Motorola and has since tried to serve as a role model for others within the company to be completely open and honest about their lives in the workplace. Kyle currently co-leads Motorola's LGBT Business Council which was established in 2000, the same year that Motorola began providing domestic partner benefits and added sexual orientation and gender identity to its non-discrimination policies. In less than a decade, the company established itself as a trusted partner, an engaged collaborator, and a passionate advocate to advance workplace equality for its LGBT employees. Every year since 2004, Motorola has achieved a 100 percent rating on the Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index and is ranked among the "Best Places to Work" for LGBT employees. In 2009, Motorola joined the Business Coalition for Workplace Fairness and endorsed the passage of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, which will provide federal protection of LGBT people in the workplace. In addition to Point Foundation, Kyle also serves on the Board of Directors of Out & Equal™ Workplace Advocates, a national non-profit organization which champions safe and equitable workplaces for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people. Kyle is a member of the Board of Directors of Equality Illinois, a statewide non-profit organization whose mission is to secure, protect and defend equal rights for LGBT people in Illinois. Kyle lives in Chicago, Illinois with his partner Eric. |
