Jennifer Kolmel
Communications & Marketing ManagerJennifer Kolmel comes to the Point Foundation after working the last five years in several non-profit organizations in Los Angeles dedicated to the arts and the LGBT community. She has worked the past three years as the Publicity and Listing Coordinator at REDCAT Film (The Roy and Edna Disney CalArts Theater) at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles. In 2003 she held the position of Volunteer Coordinator and Outreach Supervisor for Outfest: Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, where she was responsible for outreach, recruiting and training over 300 volunteers, and overseeing the Community Collaborator Program, a cross-marketing campaign whose aim is to form alliances among the non-profit organizations in Los Angeles. Volunteerism has always played an important role in her life; she continues to volunteer for Outfest, and in the past few years has taken non-paid positions at Homo-A-Gogo (a Washington queer arts festival) as the Co-Director of Film Programming and at LA Dyke March as their main publicist. Jennifer’s activist roots are firmly grounded in the LGBTQ community and her formal education is in the fine arts, she recently received her Master in Fine Arts at the University of Southern California. |
